Pencil Tree with Christmas decorations

Do you have an old tree and extra décor? I challenge you to transform that outdated tree into something beautiful. Whether you let the kids have fun with it, or you take matters into your own creative hands, I am here to tell you that it is possible.

I took this 10 year old pencil tree that was flocked at one time, and transformed it into cute, earthy, eye-candy for our guest powder room. Even though our guest powder room is rarely used, it is located in the main area of our home. I just love walking past, seeing the beauty of this tree.

The Dollar Tree has great, low cost ornaments and ribbon.

And if you need more decor, You don’t have to spend a lot on a tree to have that elevated look. The ribbon is from the dollar store.

The ornaments are from Amazon and Hobby Lobby (previous years). And the stems are a random mix of picks from Hobby Lobby (previous years) and other stems from random items such as bouquets, etc.

DECORATING TIP: I always try and find item that can be used in more ways than one. For example… I use these same stems for spring décor. When I buy decorative hand towels, I try and keep the patterns minimal, but choose colors that can fit other seasons and holidays.
